Phyllis Bala is a transcultural health consultant & doctor of indigenous medicine with an international reputation for her ability to see and describe internal illness and interpret their resulting effect upon the mental, emotional & spiritual health of people.
In Her Own Words
My personal ancestors initially presented themselves to me in 1987, in conjunction with the indigenous ancestors of the Sonoma, Mendocino, & Mount Shasta areas in California. These primary teachers help me to build bridges between the physical world & the worlds of spirit, in order to create more balance, safety & harmony within the Pacific Ring of Fire.
I work within the Circle of Life, or Medicine Wheel, assisting All Our Relations to re-establish the natural balance & harmony of life. This critical balance has long been disrupted by the process of modernization & the resulting internal & external conflicts we experience in our mechanized lives. Because I am sensitive to the presence, appearance & responsive movement of energy, it allows me to work across cultural & ethnic boundaries.
It is an honor to act on behalf of the ancestors, whose influences are focused in a respectful, spiritually articulate & openhearted manner. They are committed to bringing us a loving, impartial, protective elder-wisdom to guide us into a way of life that is healthier & more integrated with nature.
I specialize in seeing & describing underlying conditions that may not be obvious through other medical diagnostic procedures. I have an extensive history of working with people in this context & in preparing patients for successful surgeries & post-operative recovery. Medical intuitive services are highly individualized & may be performed either in person or through telephone consultation.
Medical Advocate and Transcultural Health Consultant
Advocacy establishes a supportive & educational approach for individuals involved in potentially traumatic medical situations. I assist in setting protocols for patients that address medical & cultural appropriateness, as well as methods for reducing risk, stress & trauma.
This non-invasive, external belly massage is an ancient healing practice found in many cultures. The wisdom of this method was passed down from my great-grandmother, an indigenous midwife & herbal healer from Mexico. A wide variety of conditions may be addressed with this massage, including migraines, varicose veins, lower back pain, depression, & spinal inflammation.
Medicine Wheel Courses
The medicine wheel is constructed as a spiritual tool to re-balance the elemental forces of nature within our bodies & spirits. It integrates our personal healing with that of the earth & our ancestors.
The history of a place can sometimes create disruptive conditions which may reflect on the health & well-being of family & community.
Tools such as ceremony, planting of gardens, building of shrines & simple water features can provide options to alleviate the impact of a disturbed history, restoring beauty, safety & harmony between the place & its inhabitants.
Private sessions can vary in length and can be in the form of a consultation or treatment.
When an individual experiences an emotional, mental or spiritual emergency, intervention may be necessary. These crises are increasingly recognized as breaks with normalcy that are vastly different from psychotic episodes. Psychotic episodes are characterized by an inability to observe one's own behaviors & emotional state. Left untreated, a spiritual emergency can either become a psychotic break or be diagnosed as one.
Private consultations are available to lend insight regarding illnesses or imbalances that have emotional, spiritual or medical elements. Consultations are charged at $100 per hour, & sessions generally last 45 minutes ($75). You are welcome to contact me to set up an appointment.
